![]() ![]() Its 2019 EP, produced by Dylan Bauld (flor, Halsey, LIGHTS) and mixed by Andrew Maury (Shawn Mendes, COIN), bursts with joyful energy and creativity. Founded by six childhood friends, the band built a following in Washington, D.C., on the strength of ecstatic live shows and a stream of releases. Sub-Radio makes indie pop that grooves, stabs, winks, punches, and inspires. Its explosive energy, combined with darker themes, serves as a fitting juxtaposition to the breezy, care-free optimism of Cinders’ debut. The band released the full-length album Looking Forward to Looking Back in fall 2018. The band’s self-titled debut LP, released in 2016, was hailed by SLUG Magazine as “constant, feel-good energy from start to finish.” Songs from the record, including standout tracks “Hope You Do” and “Last Year’s Winter,” were included on streaming playlists in the indie pop, acoustic, and folk genres. Brad Bennett (drums), Austin Harris (keyboards), and Chelsey Powell (saxophone, vocals) completed the six-piece lineup in 2017. ![]() Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, the band was formed in 2015 by high school friends Jordan Zabriskie (vocals, acoustic guitar), Montana Smith (vocals, electric guitar), and Adrian De La Cruz (bass). ![]() With a rowdy acoustic pop sound, Cinders blends acoustic textures, indie vocals, catchy melodies, and the frenetic live energy of a punk show. ![]()
